Oliver North, Heroes Proved, Fiction, Threshold Editions, Simon & Schuster
Threshold Editions, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, announced that it will publish HEROES PROVED, a new thriller from New York Times No. 1 bestselling author, combat decorated U.S. Marine, syndicated columnist, and Fox News Channel host Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North, USMC (Ret.).
PROVEN HEROES, scheduled for publication on November 20, 2012, is an epic tale of good versus evil, political intrigue, espionage, and what it means to be a patriot. It’s also a love story—and an ominous look into a high-tech future in which the old rules no longer apply.
Oliver L. North served 22 years as a U.S. Marine. His awards for service in combat include the Silver Star, the Bronze Star for valor, and two Purple Hearts for wounds in action. From 1983-1986 Lieutenant Colonel North served as the U.S. government’s counter-terrorism coordinator on the National Security Council Staff. President Ronald Reagan described him as “An American hero.”
He is a syndicated columnist, host of the award-winning War Stories documentary series on Fox News Channel, and a consultant for Activision’s Call of Duty – Black Ops II video gamE. North’s bestselling books include Under Fire, One More Mission, War Stories, the American Heroes book series and his novels, Mission Compromised, The Jericho Sanction, and The Assassins. He and his wife Betsy live in Virginia.
Oliver North says: “The men and women in HEROES PROVED are real. They are the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Guardsmen, Marines, Clandestine Services Officers, Federal Agents and ‘Security Contractors’ with whom I have been privileged to keep company in difficult and dangerous places. They have made my life—and this novel—very exciting. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with Simon & Schuster and Threshold Editions so the American people can better know the men and women who sacrifice so much to protect our freedoms. If you have ever looked around the corner and wondered, ‘what if?’, HEROES PROVED answers the question.”
