Stephen Colbert Awarded 'Most Important Children's Book Ever' by National Association of Life Coaches

In honor of the classic children's book "I Am A Pole (And So Can You!)", National Association of Life Coaches awarded author Stephen T. Colbert with "Most Important Children's Book Ever".

NAOLC recognized the poetic allegory for pioneering a new genera: motivational books for children. The mission of NAOLC is to help people "live their dreams". Colbert's book advances that cause through a highly creative approach.

Colbert describes the book as: "The perfect gift to give a child or grandchild for their high school or college graduation. Also Father's Day. Also, other times."

NAOLC presented Colbert a twenty five-pound trophy which eternally enshrines his book between two inches of solid Lexan.

Stephen Colbert is the host, writer and executive producer of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series "The Colbert Report" on Comedy Central as well as an accomplished author and actor. Recently, Colbert starred as Harry in the New York Philharmonic presentation of Stephen Sondheim's "Company" along with Jon Cryer, Neil Patrick Harris, Christina Hendricks, Patti LuPone and Martha Plimpton, among others. The performances were held at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City from April 7-9, 2011.

"The Colbert Report" launched on October 17, 2005 and has garnered ratings and critical success as one of the top shows on television. Since its inception, the series has received a prestigious Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting in 2008 and 18 Primetime Emmy nominations. In 2010, Colbert and his writing team won the show's second Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program.

Colbert has literally made a name for himself with "The Colbert Report." The following have all been named in honor of the host: Steagle Colbeagle the Eagle, the mascot for the minor league hockey team Saginaw Spirit; Stephen Jr., a bald eagle at the San Francisco Zoo; Stephanie Colbertle the Turtle, a leatherback turtle in the first Great Turtle Race; Aptostichus Stephencolberti, a trapdoor spider; Air Colbert, a Virgin America jet; AmericOne Dream, a Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor; Esteban Colbert, a very virile falcon in San Jose; Stelephant Colbert, an elephant seal tagged as part of a study by University of California Santa Cruz; Agaporomorphus Colberti, a diving beetle from Venezuela; and a NASA treadmill called The Combined Operational Load Bearing External Resistance Treadmill (C.O.L.B.E.R.T.).
