Initial sales figures for J.K. Rowling's first literary endeavor, The Casual Vacancy, since the conclusion of her acclaimed Harry Potter series have been released by her publisher, Little, Brown and Company. Through all mediums: print, audio, and digital, Rowling's new piece sold 375,000 in its first six days since being released. "The Casual Vacancy has exceeded our expectations in its first six days in stores,” said Little, Brown publisher Michael Pietsch said. “We believe it is on track to become the year's bestselling novel in hardcover."The Casual Vacancy received mixed to negative reviews from most critics - and also sold well under the final Harry Potter novel.
