Barbra Streisand, the legendary actress, singer, and director, is appearing at this year's BookExpo America (BEA) at the Opening Night Keynote Reception today, May 25th. The iconic performer is being interviewed before thousands of booksellers and book industry professionals about My Passion for Design, to be published by Viking on November 16, 2010. This marks Streisand's first appearance on behalf of the book. BroadwayWorld stopped by the Javits Center - the site of this year's book expo - to capture some shots of Streisand's set-up, and her long lines of fans waiting to collect tickets to hear her speak today.
In her first book, My Passion for Design, Barbra Streisand reveals another aspect of her talent: the taste and style that have inspired her extraordinary homes and collections. My Passion for Design will focus on the architecture and construction of her newest homes, the dream refuge that she has longed for since the days when she shared a small Brooklyn apartment with her mother, brother, and grandparents.
BookExpo America takes place May 25th - May 27th at the Jacob K. Javits Center. It is a business convention, open only to members of the book trade. The Opening Night Keynote Reception will be in the Special Events Hall and all registered attendees will be admitted.
