New Children of America E-book Reminds Children to 'Remember Our Heroes' Like Soldiers, Firefighters, Police Officers and Teachers

Officials at Children of America Educational Childcare & Academy have released their newest e-book, which teaches children about important heroes in society like soldiers, police officers, firefighters and teachers. A new, illustrated, interactive e-book is published each month as part of Children of America's Just Read program.

Using a computer, smartphone or tablet device, parents and children may access the free e-books at http://childrenofamerica.com/mindandbody/just-read-books.cfm.

"Our Just Read program encourages parents to spend at least 15 minutes each day reading with their child to help build reading skills," said Thad Pryor, Children of America CEO and founder. "Our February book is the sixth book in the series and teaches children about our everyday heroes. We make the books easy to access online with the goal of providing resources for parents that their children will love."

Each book has a theme and includes a monthly calendar with activities that parents and children can do together. The books include songs, colors, shapes and words to help guide learning each month. A word search game is provided at the end of each book for added fun and learning.

The full-color e-books feature Bentley, the Children of America mascot. The dog leads children through a variety of interesting topics. Themes have included healthy eating, fitness fun, literacy, celebrating holidays and winter animals. Children of America students help write and illustrate the stories.

The e-books are designed with toddlers and preschoolers in mind, with the goal of helping instill a love of reading and writing. Teachers at Children of America use themes in the books to plan classroom activities and lessons throughout the month.

Pryor suggested parents speak with their children about the books and encourage them to draw pictures about the stories they read.
