Libby Floyd Releases New Novel SPARKELICIOUS

Libby Floyd, the popular national television shopping channel host who has sold millions of dollars worth of diamonds, gemstones and gold on ShopNBC, Shop-At-Home and The Shopping Channel for the last 15 years, shines in her new novel, SPARKELICIOUS (http://www.chardonnaypress.com). It's the first of several novels she has in the pipeline as a full-time author. Libby, who most recently appeared with chef Bobby Flay on the Food Network, is thoroughly enjoying her new career.

"I've been writing since I was a teenager - first poetry, then writing songs, which I performed with my band in Los Angeles and Nashville. My lyrics evolved into short stories and then I started writing novels. It was a natural progession. So, I've been writing for over 20 years," says Floyd, now living in Minneapolis.

SPARKELICIOUS is Libby's first novel and is a modern day Sex And The City meets a contemporary Steel Magnolias. Set in her hometown of Greenville, South Carolina and Libby's spiritual home of Los Angeles, SPARKELICIOUS finds fashion designer Laney Montgomery at a crossroads in her life.

STORYLINE: On a much-needed vacation back home to South Carolina to visit her mom and two sisters, Laney realizes that their lives are in disarray. She then learns that her own marriage is in serious trouble back in California and that her fashion business is on the verge of collapse. The affections of a younger man only complicates matters as Laney tries to fix everyone else before she can get her own life back on track.

"In the story, the main character is turning forty which most women find devastating, especially in Hollywood. And I know that from experience!" says Floyd. However, she explores ageism in a positive and uplifting light through Laney Montgomery's character, who finds that it's never too late to pursue one's true passion or find the love of your life.

"I think it's a story that every woman can relate to," Floyd says with a grin. "Just when Laney thought she'd lost her sparkle, something delicious came along."
