GIRLS' Lena Dunham to Pen New Book for Random House

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lena Dunham has signed a deal with Random House to publish a collection of essays to be titled 'Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's Learned.' The creator of HBO's hit series GIRLS will reportedly earn as much as $3.7 million for the publication. Dunham decided to chose Random House after a series a meetings with multiple publishing houses caused a bidding war last week. 

In a press release, Random House described the book as a “frank and funny advice on everything from sex to eating to traveling to work.” Susan Kamil, the editor-in-chief and publisher of Random House, called her a "rare literary talent" with a voice that is "fresh, wise, so assured."

Dunham wrote and directed the independent film Tiny Furniture (2010), and is the creator and star of the HBO series Girls. In 2012, she was nominated for 4 Emmy Awards for Girls.

A publication date for the project has not yet been announced.
