Poet, ex-monk and member of Ireland's elite Aosdána (limited to 250 living artists who have produced a distinguished body of work) Ciaran O'Driscoll returns to Brighton to talk about his life and work and read from his new debut novel A Year's Midnight from Pighog Press.
In a winter of discontent in Italy, George is troubled - by a field. It seems to be trying to tell him something. As he loses his relationship with his partner and falls in love with someone else, George staggers through drinks, dogs and despair trying to avoid a poltergeist and the darkness in his childhood. It is an evocation of a man's quest to centre himself.
