New York Times bestselling author Laura Schroff of An Invisible Thread co-author, Alex Tresniowski and Maurice Mazyck are partnering with Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign to help end childhood hunger in America. The No Kid Hungry campaign connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. A portion of the proceeds from the paperback sales of An Invisible Thread will be donated to the No Kid Hungry campaign to help ensure all children get the healthy food they need every day.

"Excuse me lady, do you have any spare change? I am hungry." This simple question asked by Maurice Mazyck , then an 11-year-old homeless panhandler, marked the beginning of an extraordinary, unlikely friendship that ultimately transformed two lives. An Invisible Thread is based on Schroff's own true story and describes the unexpected connection between a busy sales executive and a hungry, homeless boy who had no choice but to fend for himself. The result is a complex and moving story of how two lives converged one fateful day.

"Maurice represents the 16 million children in America who struggle with hunger - the very children we're fighting for," said Billy Shore , founder and CEO of Share Our Strength. "Just as the book An Invisible Thread demonstrates, each and every one of us has the power to make a difference and enrich the lives of those around us. We all have strengths to share, and we encourage readers to join in our mission and explore the simple contributions they can make in their everyday lives to ensure no child goes hungry in America."

Schroff sees her bestseller as much more than a book-in the year since its release it has become a vehicle to spread the power of small acts of kindness, and to convey how each of us has the ability to make a difference, specifically in the lives of the 16 million children who suffer from hunger in our country. This is the motivation behind An Invisible Thread team's recent partnership with Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign. "With each paperback book sold a hungry child will receive a healthy meal," said Schroff. "We are so proud to support this extremely worthy organization committed to ending child hunger. Our dream is to inspire people to help children like Maurice whose lives are harder than we can imagine. We encourage our readers to open their eyes and hearts to people less fortunate around them, and that's what's happening."

The title, An Invisible Thread, is based on an old Chinese proverb about the bonds between people who are destined to meet. Schroff and co-author Tresniowski chronicle how a chance encounter followed by a simple lunch shared by two strangers became a Monday night ritual that spanned a quarter century. Schroff poignantly reveals how Maurice's childhood echoed her own in Long Island, NY, where her father's violent alcoholic tirades wreaked havoc on the family.
